From Poltava to Kiev - 4 hours, from Poltava to Kharkov - 2,5 hours.
With many slow speed zones on the highway due to road construction, you should now allow 5 hours to Kiev.
I'm flying into Kiev, what's the best way to travel to Poltava? I know a taxi will cost about $170-$200. Anyone have any input? I'm not fluent, but I do speak and understand some Russian and a little Ukrainian.

Yup, i agree that car is a safe and sound journey and i will do agree with " Jackrabbit " too that it takes 5 hours to reach at Kiev.

It is good of course 5 hours from Poltava to Kiev, but if you use our service UA-traveller Agency - it will take 4 hours, a comfortable car and a good driver. You are welcome!
Usually it takes 4 hrs to Kiev by microbus but much cheaper than the service you offer.
The driver by the way must be skillful and experienced. Your expression "good driver" doesn't say anything to the customer so it brings the issue of quality for translation/interpreting services providing by the company you are trying to advertise here.
